THE CLIENT
PBS4 is a care provider supporting autistic people, people with learning disabilities and other disabilities to achieve their goals and reduce the need for ‘’challenging’’ behaviours using evidence-based approaches. With a mission to make a meaningful change in the lives of the people they support, their primary goal is to provide people lead independent lives in their own homes.
THE CHALLENGE
The main challenge was securing a suitable community placement for people with multiple needs whenever struggles arose. Creating safe, supportive environments where people’s needs, requirements, and preferences are met is the standard of care and the solution to ensuring people can live their best lives.
Nurseline Healthcare has always complimented our work in finding a solution for individuals who otherwise would be unable to remain in the community or find a community placement.
TEAMING
PBS4 and Nurseline Healthcare formed a leading team of care professionals to support people with learning disabilities and autism with behavioural challenges. We came together to set a practical outset, with both teams working in close partnership to plan, problem-solve and respond to people’s needs. Each team member was included in finding practical solutions to behavioural challenges, resulting in a smooth and coordinated approach. By sharing responsibilities and maintaining clear communication, they achieved positive outcomes and strengthened the quality of support provided.
The Nurseline Healthcare teams we have worked with are highly trained and bring a positive attitude and approach to supporting the people we support.
THE OUTCOME
Approachable, reliable, and professional, the Nurseline Healthcare team worked closely together to maintain clear and effective communication. Internally, the coordination ensured that each person receiving support was paired with clinicians whose personalities and interests aligned with their own. By focusing on what would best serve people, the collective efforts created experiences that were positive, engaging and outcome-based.
