Hollie is Nurseline’s HR Enablement Manager. Starting off as the CEO’s PA, Hollie has grown considerably in just four and a half years and is passionate about self-development.
Why did you choose to pursue a career with Nurseline Healthcare?
Not only did I pursue a career with Nurseline Healthcare, they pursued a career with me! When I walked into my interview with Trevor (CEO) four and a half years ago I’d worked as a veterinary receptionist and had no business-related experience or any idea what I wanted to do. Trevor inspired me by his passion to want to change people’s lives. I was given an opportunity to be the best I can be even though I didn’t have the relevant experience for the position I had applied for. I was thrown in the deep end but Trevor believed in me and trusted my ability regardless of my age, experience or knowledge. Having someone like Trevor who has faith in your success and growth enabled me to push myself to learn and grow, and to be where I am today.

What does your role entail?
My role exists to help the Catalyst Care Group (including Nurseline Healthcare) deliver its corporate strategy and objectives by effectively recruiting, developing people and managing each individual’s contribution. I am responsible for recruitment, HR policies, HR administration (such as contracts of employment), ensuring we are aligned with employment law, employee retention, learning and development programmes, reward and recognition, employee benefits and so on.
How have Nurseline Healthcare helped you progress?
Nurseline Healthcare is the reason I have been successful. Learning and growth is so important to enable us to reach our individual goals and business goals. I have been on an executive PA course, attended training on relationship management, first aid, customer service and much more. Nurseline Healthcare has invested in me by enabling me to complete my Level 5 Diploma in Human Resource Management which I am currently in the middle off which has developed my knowledge and skills for my role and given me the tools for expanding the HR division across the Catalyst Care Group.

What motivates you?
I am motivated by enabling others to maximise their human potential. I thrive from seeing others succeed and growing in their roles.
What do you most enjoy about your job?
I enjoy the consistent learning which comes with my role each day. Every day is different and I am constantly learning more about my role, the business and myself on a personal level. My role has not only impacted me professionally but also personally. A lot in my life has changed positively due to what I am learning within this organisation
What’s your ambition?
My ambition is to grow the HR department as the business grows to have separate departments that specialise in certain areas of HR such as learning and development. Another ambition of mine is to continue to develop even once my level 5 is completed. This could be completing a degree next!
What’s the greatest achievement (in your role) to date?
Transitioning from Trevor’s PA to full time HR Manager. This was a big step for me. Taking on HR full time was a challenge and I was pushed out of my comfort zone. However what I have learnt over the past four and a half years is that if we don’t come out of our comfort zone and challenge ourselves we will always be stuck in the same place. This mindset has pushed me to believe I am always capable.
